I live close enough to Bethpage that I end up there most weeks, and I still don't book it the "normal" way anymore. I built TeeSignal mostly to solve this exact problem for myself first — I use it almost every week to get onto Black, Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow, whichever is actually open when I want to play. So this isn't a guide I researched once. It's just how I book golf.
Bethpage runs through the official New York State Parks golf reservation system — not a third-party app, not GolfNow, just the state's own site. If you've got a Golf Park ID as a New York resident, you're looking at roughly a 7-day window. Non-residents get less, closer to 5 days out. New times for a given date drop online at midnight, and weekend slots on Black are gone within minutes, not hours.
I'd take the exact day counts with a grain of salt and check parks.ny.gov yourself before you build a trip around them — the state has changed these rules more than once in the last couple years trying to deal with bots, and they'll probably change again.
There's a non-refundable $5 booking fee tacked on, plus two-factor auth at checkout now — you'll get a code emailed to you that you need to punch in to actually lock the time. Green fees on Black run somewhere around $144–$160 right now. Annoying, but it's not the part that actually keeps people out.
You only get one Black Course reservation per 28 days. Book July 1st and your next shot isn't until July 29th. I've had out-of-state friends plan a trip assuming they could book two rounds a week apart and get burned by this exact rule — it's worth building your whole itinerary around before you touch the booking site.
If you've read anything about Bethpage lately, it's probably been about bots. In October 2025 the NY Inspector General's office put out a report on this — out of over 16,000 online Black Course reservations between April and August 2024, nearly 57% ended up canceled. The state's response was the $5 fee, 2FA, and tighter limits on duplicate accounts, aimed squarely at bots and resellers.
I want to be direct about this because it matters: TeeSignal doesn't touch the reservation system at all. It doesn't log in anywhere, doesn't hold a slot, doesn't book anything for you. It watches the same public tee sheet everyone can already see and texts you when a time matching what you want opens up — you still go book it yourself, through the real system, same as anyone refreshing the page manually. It's an alarm clock, not a bot.
Everyone fixates on the midnight scramble at the 7-day (or 5-day) mark, but with well over half of all bookings eventually canceling, a huge number of those same slots quietly reopen in the days and hours before your target date. That's genuinely most of how I personally get onto Black now — not the midnight rush, the cancellations that trickle in afterward. Nobody can refresh a tab for a week straight to catch those by hand, which is the entire reason I built this in the first place.
TeeSignal watches all five Bethpage courses around the clock and texts you the second a time matching your dates opens up.
