Chambers Bay is public — no membership, no sponsor required — which is exactly why it's booked solid most of the year. The U.S. Open pedigree and the fescue-covered, Pacific Northwest links look alone are enough to make it a bucket-list stop for traveling golfers, so the tee sheet fills up fast once a window opens.
Residency-rate tee times can be reserved up to 3 months in advance, and that window opens on the 1st of each month. So if you want a tee time in, say, July, the residency-rate window for July opens on April 1st.
If you don't qualify for residency pricing, there's a separate, wider release: advance reservations for tee times from April through October become available outside the residency window starting January 1st of that year. If you're planning a spring or summer trip from out of state, January 1st is the date to have circled — that's when the broader pool of availability for the whole season opens up at once, long before most visitors start looking.
Groups of 12 or more can book up to a full year in advance — a useful option if you're organizing a larger buddies trip or an outing rather than a foursome.
You can book online or by calling the shop directly at (253) 460-4653. A credit card holds the reservation, with payment due at the shop when you arrive. Cancel or change inside 7 days of your tee time and you'll forfeit the fee, so lock in dates you're confident about.
TeeSignal watches Chambers Bay's tee sheet year-round and tells you the moment a time matching your dates and group size opens — whether that's the January release or a last-minute cancellation.
